Because smartphones give us the ability to bear witness to a seemingly infinite number of friends and family members' photos, the myth of photographic truth is especially prevalent in the smartphone world. The photos we see on social media are representative of a singular point in time. This myth of photographic truth has led to an experience that the millennial and z generation refer to as "FOMO" (Fear Of Missing Out).
